Environment Senior Associate - Opportunities Across the UK
Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Environment Senior Associate to join their dynamic Environment Team. This permanent role can be based in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen, providing you with the flexibility to choose a location that suits you best.
Due to the seniority of the role, you will have the skills and track record expected of a legal professional working at a Senior Associate level. Alongside this, you will bring a wealth of experience in climate and sustainability matters, including strategic and regulatory advice. You should be adept in providing counsel on natural capital, carbon offsetting and other ecosystem services, plus it is also essential that you are proficient in contractual drafting and negotiation in these areas.
Key responsibilities include advising on a range of environmental and climate-related projects such as Biodiversity Net Gain, nutrient neutrality, and natural capital investment. Your work will involve engaging with significant projects and major clients, offering the chance to make a substantial impact within this specialized practice.
As part of the esteemed Environment Team, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of lawyers, public policy professionals, and sustainability consultants. This position offers exposure to a variety of work, including infrastructure consenting and development, regulatory advice, and climate change resilience projects.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong academic background and experience within a large regional or national practice. We seek someone with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise junior team members. A commitment to business development and delivering outstanding client service is also essential.
