A forward-thinking environmental consultancy is seeking a Senior Environmental Due Diligence Consultant to strengthen its growing Environmental Transaction Services (ETS) team. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-impact, commercially focused advisory services on some of the most significant real estate and corporate transactions in the UK and Europe.
This is an ideal position for a technically strong, client-focused professional who's ready to step into a leadership role within a supportive and fast-paced consultancy environment. With a focus on quality, insight, and impact, the role combines technical delivery with project management, client engagement, and mentoring of junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of environmental due diligence (EDD) assessments for property transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Conducting and reviewing Phase I environmental site assessments and desktop studies, ensuring technical rigour and commercial clarity.
- Liaising directly with clients to advise on environmental risks, liabilities, and opportunities within investment strategies.
- Supporting project planning, cost estimation, proposal writing, and quality assurance processes.
- Coaching and mentoring junior consultants, contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
- Coordinating with internal specialists and external partners to deliver multidisciplinary solutions.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Proven experience in environmental due diligence within a consultancy or corporate advisory context.
- A strong technical understanding of ground risk, environmental compliance, and sustainability considerations in property and investment transactions.
- A relevant degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership with a recognised professional body (e.g., IEMA, CIWEM, CGeol).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues for a range of stakeholders.
- Project management capabilities and a proactive, solution-led approach to delivery.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally across the UK and Europe.
Why this opportunity stands out:
This consultancy is on a mission to create a safer, more sustainable world - working with major investors, developers, and corporate clients to deliver actionable insights that drive smart, responsible decision-making.
Offering a values-driven culture, genuine career development, and exposure to high-profile projects, this role is perfect for an environmental professional looking to step up and make an impact where it matters most.
