Environmental Due Diligence Consultant

Job description

Environmental Due Diligence Consultant

London | Hybrid & Flexible Working

Are you an environmental professional looking for a role that offers greater variety, responsibility, and exposure to high-profile real estate projects?

This is an opportunity to join a specialist environmental and sustainability consultancy operating across key European markets. The organisation supports major real estate investors, developers, and asset managers by helping them understand and manage environmental risk while meeting sustainability and responsible investment objectives.

This role is well suited to someone ready to take the next step in their career, whether that means broader project ownership, increased client exposure, or moving into a more specialist consultancy environment.

The Role

As an Environmental Due Diligence Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering Phase 1 Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) assessments across a diverse range of UK property types.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering environmental desk studies and Phase 1 EDD reports with appropriate technical guidance
  • Undertaking and auditing site visits for straightforward assets (following training)
  • Reviewing datarooms, third-party reports, and public datasets
  • Collating and interpreting environmental, geological, hydrogeological, and regulatory data
  • Managing elements of projects, including liaison with clients and subcontractors
  • Working collaboratively across multiple projects and deadlines

About You

You are likely to have:

  • A degree in an environmental or related discipline
  • A solid understanding of environmental due diligence and UK environmental legislation
  • Strong report-writing skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with clients, site managers, and internal teams
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Word and Excel
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK

A postgraduate qualification or a second European language would be advantageous but is not essential.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary with a discretionary performance-related bonus
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Private healthcare, income protection, and enhanced sick pay
  • Monthly wellbeing allowance
  • Professional membership support
  • Cycle to Work scheme and access to employee assistance programmes
  • A supportive, international consultancy environment with clear scope for career development
