Allen & York are proud to be partnering with a leading global insurer as they look to recruit an ESG Consultant to lead the EMEA region. Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, this is a key role for the business and you'll be the sole ESG Consultant in the EMEA region, so you'll need to be comfortable working independently and engaging remotely with the other ESG Consultants.
The business has a relatively small ESG Team globally, so you won't be required to manage a team however you will work closely with Business Managers and with the clients, predominantly Fortune 100 companies, to advise on their ESG strategies and frameworks. As such, a background in the consultancy sector is essential, where you've worked with companies to successfully develop and implement their ESG strategies previously. You may have some corporate experience also and you will have ideally worked across a number of sectors, so be aware of the different challenges faced across these. You will have excellent analytical skills, predominantly quantitative but also qualitative and you'll be experienced at working on the different ESG frameworks such as TCFD, CDP and S&P, together with producing sustainability reports for clients. Your project management and client engagement skills will be exceptional and you'll be comfortable engaging at the C-Suite level within large, multinational organisations.
You will have a relevant first degree and ideally a Masters in a sustainability discipline, combined with years of experience working in the consultancy sector, preferably for one of the large management consultancies and you may have begun your career in risk or engineering.
Based in one of a number of offices in Europe, you can choose from either London, Frankfurt, Paris or Amsterdam and you'll be required to travel on occasion to the other European offices and also to the US to meet the Senior Management Team.
