Job description
Allen and York are excited to be working with an innovative, fast growing, international, publicly listed company who design and manufacture highly sustainable products, with the aim of significantly reducing the number of heavily carbon polluting alternatives.
Their products compete on performance but also benefit the circular economy with raw materials coming from completely sustainable forests, as such you will not only be leading on ESG but supporting a business whose operations themselves support national targets to reduce Carbon.
This role would maybe suit someone who is currently working within a sustainability consultancy who can use their broad and varied experience but who wants to take ownership now and see projects through from start to finish. Reporting into the Group Marketing and Comms Director, there will be an element of communications in your role as you liaise both internally and externally to create a compelling narrative and really promote the business and products, which are sold in every continent and in extremely high demand as other businesses strive to achieve their sustainability goals and drive for net zero.
This is an incredibly exciting prospect for an ambitious and driven ESG professional and given the trajectory of business growth, there will be opportunities to grow the Team and move into a Head of ESG role in time. You will be joining a purpose driven and values led organisation where everybody is committed to making a difference and driving for the same goal.
You will have experience of implementing ESG strategies, responding to ESG disclosures including DJSI and S&P, you'll report against a number of sustainability reporting frameworks including GRI, SASB and TCFD, you'll set ESG targets and be involved with Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions reporting.
In addition, you'll be responsible for providing thought leadership within the business represent them at conferences and events. as the "go to" person in the business, It will be responsible for presenting complex ESG concepts internally at all levels and you'll be involved with certification standards such as FSC.
Engaging with and regularly liaising with the C suite, you need to be knowledgeable about ESG and sustainability, pragmatic from a commercial perspective whilst not compromising on what needs to be done. A level of resilience is required as you will come up against barriers from time to time but you'll need to be resolute and work with senior leaders to formulate a strategy. This is not a new role in the business so the company has been exposed to ESG and sustainability but there is plenty still to do.
Based in Central London not far from Covent Garden, the company operates a hybrid working model whereby the Team work three days in the office and the remaining two from home. There is a strong sense of teamwork and a really lovely culture, which is evidenced by various initiatives being in place, from breakfast clubs to evening social events.
So, if you're committed to an ESG role and to joining a company where your role can progress and you can really drive progress, call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207 to find out more.
