Allen & York is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a leading manufacturer of electrical products based in Northampton, who operate across Europe, as they look to recruit a Group ESG Manager to work closely with one of the Directors and the CEO to implement and embed ESG initiatives.
This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about environmental sustainability to join a committed and innovative organisation and be instrumental in driving forward sustainability. With a focus on the 'E' in ESG, you will work closely with the CEO to develop the ESG strategy, aligning it to best practices and regulatory requirements, and you'll be looking at energy efficiency, waste management, sustainable sourcing and reducing the company's carbon footprint. This is a role where you'll need to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, so collating and analysing data and then producing action plans off the back of this will be important. Your environmental degree (and preferably Masters) will be required, together with some relevant experience in ESG and sustainability in another business, either consultancy or corporate. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to react to different opinions to ensure everyone's on the same page and that they're all on board with the ESG strategy. In time, it's expected that this role will become more senior and you will grow a Team around you so it's a super opportunity for someone with proven experience in ESG and who now wants to take a step up and be accountable for the environmental sustainability issues, but there will be some social and governance issues for you to work through as well.
My client is based in Northampton and they are happy to consider hybrid working, so you'll be expected to be in the offices three days a week and work the remainder from home, if you wish. Due to the focus on stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally, it is important you're in the office to meet with colleagues and embed the practices. There may be some occasional international travel to Europe so a willingness and ability to do this is important.
