Head of Health, Safety & Environment

This is an opportunity to join one of the world's leading FM organisations working with across a variety of sectors including retail, healthcare, leisure and hospitality and commercial property. The company employ nearly 10,000 people and continue to grow their portfolio.

Reporting to the Account Director, this role works as part of the Senior Leadership Team supporting a major contract, it is a national role and will have a field-based team reporting directly to this role. This role will be responsible for creating and leading the implementation of a world class health and safety strategy. The successful candidate will be expected to successfully influence and challenge senior stakeholders, to develop a culture of true ownership and accountability at all levels, both internally and externally.

The Head of HSE will be responsible for ensuring that all statutory obligations are met leading across a large network of over 600 sites across the UK delivering hard and soft FM services. It will also include leading and delivering the strategy through a culture of ownership managing a team of senior H&S Managers and operational teams.

Key to success in this role will be the ability to manage across a large, disparate organisation ensuring standards are maintained with an attitude of continuous improvement.

It would be expected that candidates will have a positive 'can do' attitude, able to problem solve and are innovative in their approach. This will lend itself well to the training and motivation of the team, senior management and working with clients.

Candidates should come from a background ideally within the Facilities Management industry with experience of Hard and Soft FM services. It will be critical that candidates have experience of a customer facing role with a strong demonstration of client interaction.

It would be expected that candidates are qualified to a minimum of GradIOSH, ideally CMIOSH and are degree qualified or have NEBOSH Diploma. It would be advantageous to have an Environment, Fire or Auditing qualification with ISO management systems experience.

The role is based flexibly but candidates will be required to travel UK wide on a regular basis.
