Plant Propagation Specialist, Thetford
This is your chance to start your career for one of the largest producers of native wetland and wildflower plants in the UK.
You will be working for a business who has a large, and growing, customer base specialising in river restoration, erosion control, and habitat reinstatement.
You will be an organised, positive individual, this role will be production-based and will involve plant propagation, picking and processing plant orders, and recording production figures. It is an active role and will require a mix of indoor and outdoor work, as well as occasional work within polytunnels. As the right candidate you will be able to use your own initiative and enjoy working within a team.
Ideally you will have previous nursery experience, though experience in other related fields will be considered.
In this role you will be responsible for growing a wide range of herbaceous perennials, sedges, rushes, and grasses; you will be overseeing the entire production process from seed to delivery. This will include, Seed propagation, Stem cuttings and division, Picking and processing plant orders Seed harvesting throughout summer/autumn,
It is also expected to will under take Husbandry work this will include helping uphold the high standards set by the nursery, you will be expected to help maintain quality stock, keep the polytunnels and wider nursery clean, tidy, and safe, and help with irrigation when required. This will include Weeding and cleaning plant stock, General maintenance and cleaning of polytunnels General maintenance and cleaning of wider nursery.
In return you will receive a Salary: £21,840 (£10.50 per hour), plus pension, benefits and holiday pay
Your standard hours of work will be: 07:00 - 16:00 (may vary with the seasons).
