Principal Ecologist -£competitive

Are you a dedicated and chartered Ecologist with experience managing projects and inspiring more junior team members to develop withing a multi-disciplinary consultancy?

The role
The position will be varied and duties include:
* Leading a varied portfolio of interesting and complex ecological projects from initial client liaison through to completion.
* Mentoring and managing enthusiastic ecologists by adopting a creative and an inspiring approach.
* Contributing to business development activities including building client relationships and writing fee proposals to help to expand our current portfolio.
* Project and people management to ensure effective delivery of reports.
* Being the lead author on a range of reports including EcIAs, ES Chapters and Habitat Regulations Assessments.
Requirements
* A minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience as an Ecologist in a consultancy environment.
* Full member of CIEEM, preferably a Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist.
* Excellent knowledge of UK and EC wildlife legislation and policy.
* Excellent knowledge of EIA and the planning process.
* Proven experience of writing technical reports and delivery of EPSM licence documents; EcIA; ES Chapters Habitat Regulations Assessments and BREEAM Assessments.
* Named ecologist on EPSM licences - Bats / Great Crested Newts as a minimum.
* Staff mentoring experience.
