Job description
Allen & York are working with one of the UK's leading engineering and supply chain organisations to assist in appointing a proactive Safety & Sustainability Adviser in affecting culture change across the southern region and beyond. This organization works internationally and supplies over 2500 customers globally and helps to keep the UK moving and the wheels of industry turning.
Working as part of a broader UK team and reporting into the Head of Safety, this role will ensure that all sites throughout the region are working to the relevant standards with a view to improvement in line with the strategic objective of world class standards and management systems.
The company are in the process of implementing positive change throughout the organisation and this role will play an instrumental part in working with key stakeholders across the business to help achieve this.
The role will work closely with 3rd parties and relevant contractors to ensure that responsibilities are met to achieve the highest standards and safeguard workers and clients' interests working within legislation, regulatory authorities and other influential parties.
For this role, candidates should have a proven track record of delivery in a complex, high risk environment able to liaise and work with a variety of stakeholders at management and shop floor. It would be expected that candidates will have a background working in engineering, transportation or an industrial setting with flexibility for travel throughout the southern region and occasionally beyond.
Ideally a Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards, candidates should be able to actively demonstrate strong influencing skills backed up by evidential success across previous roles.
