Senior Environmental Consultant

Job description

Senior Environmental Consultant

Competitive Salary

Homebased (East) UK

A Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant is required to join an established environmental team, providing expert risk reduction services to a range of clients. This role involves managing projects, overseeing site investigations and remediation works, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams, the consultant will play a key role in delivering technically robust and commercially aware solutions.

The successful candidate will have a background in earth sciences or geo-environmental disciplines and be working towards Chartership. They should have experience supervising site investigations using various drilling techniques and working on contaminated land projects, particularly those involving petroleum hydrocarbon contamination. Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, remediation techniques, and chemical analysis of soil, water, and air samples is essential.

Responsibilities include designing and supervising site investigations, managing contractors, scheduling and interpreting laboratory analyses, and preparing risk assessments and technical reports. The role also involves financial control of projects, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development. Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that supports professional development and offers the chance to work on impactful environmental projects.
