Allen & York are proud to be working with Earth Security - a dynamic and agile organisation founded in 2011, who link global finance with nature's capital. Their innovative programmes mobilise companies, governments and investors to develop new ways of financing nature-based climate solutions to create a secure future for humanity. At this exciting time in their history (and never more relevant), they are now looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Programme Manager to join the Team and drive forward the Earth Assets Programme, a global programme of work.
Earth Security's programmes develop the economic research and trends for financing nature, engage with banks, governments and conservation groups to identify opportunities; and put forward new financing models to engage top investors to recognise nature's value in their investment decisions.
You will have strong, hands on research skills within climate finance/nature-based solutions financing, and the experience in producing executive reports for decision-makers. You will have a background in economics that gives you an ability to drive economic analyses of ecosystem services, and an understanding of the range of innovative financial models for nature. In addition, you'll have managed numerous international research programmes across continents on climate finance. You'll need strong experience of both desk based research and active stakeholder mapping and engagement and will have produced reports for private and public finance decision makers and technical knowledge that allows you to develop insights on nature finance and apply that to different areas such as forestry, water, agriculture, blue economy, etc. This role requires the Programme Manager to be outwardly facing and act as the main point of contact for project clients and funders and you'll also contribute to the strategic development of the programmes.
To summarise, to be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- You will have a very strong research profile and research/analytical skills in leading the creation of high-quality reports for senior decision-makers on economic trends, innovative finance models and identifying practical opportunities for implementation of solutions.
- You will have strong stakeholder engagement, with the ability to network, map and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior finance to NGOs as part of the research process, navigating and building global networks among partner institutions and stakeholders.
- You'll have programme management skills, combining research development with other activities such as designing and convening webinars and stakeholders workshops that support the programme's development and positioning and research agenda, and coordinating the work of others in the team that are contributing research.
- Finally, you'll have the ability and interest to manage the delivery of other programmes and projects that are created as a result of action-orientated nature of our research and engagement.
You may have worked in a think tank or research based organisation and you'll have an entrepreneurial personality and a strong work ethic.
