Sustainability & Environment Manager London / Northampton

As the Sustainability & Environment Manager you will be tasked with working collaboratively with all stakeholders across the group to develop, coordinate, and promote effective environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives to reduce the impact on the environment and enhance the contribution of the business globally. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to grow and establish themselves as the role grows and use the experience they have gained so far in their career to develop a long term programme for an established commercial business that is looking to lead it's field.

With a genuine passion for sustainability and desire to improve the businesses corporate and wider impact on environment and society, you will utilise your knowledge of the furniture industry as well as that of ESG issues and trends to help manage and secure ISO14001 and FSC Certification.

Additionally, you will be responsible for leading carbon accounting across the group, while also conducting annual Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions reporting for the business as a whole, this will include setting reduction targets and investing in carbon offsetting/avoidance scheme.

In this role you will continue to lead and grow the group sustainability strategy to both support industry requirements and contribute toward the selected UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Day to day you will work with the product design team to enhance the sustainability credentials of the groups product portfolio including product design, chemical compliance, packaging, material innovation, and end-of-life management this will involve conducting product life cycle assessments.

Location is flexible within the UK as long as you are willing and able to travel to London and Northampton offices on a regular basis. Please note this role will also require some international travel.

In return for your hard work and dedication you will receive a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience as well as a bonus scheme and additional benefits.
