Sustainability Director - Corporate Services - Canada

This is a rare and fabulous opportunity to relocate to Canada and work for a leading employee-owned construction solutions partner who has over 20 locations across North America. Servicing the buildings, industrial, infrastructure, water and project finance sectors.

This leading construction business is seeking to integrate someone with strong European, or even EMEA, sustainability and ESG strategy experience to enable them to become a industry leader in Canada and North America.

Reporting to the VP of HSEQ and Sustainability. you will be based in Calgary and will liaise with internal and external stakeholders helping to create and strengthen communication and relationships across the business.

As Sustainability Director, you will be tasked to support our client's construction operations by applying your vast knowledge within sustainability to various business initiatives, along with developing and supporting the implementation of the businesses Sustainability strategy and success in the energy transition process.

Crucial to success in this role will be Identifying and facilitating best practices within sustainability and embedding these throughout the business. Day to day your responsibilities will include supporting the Operations and Business Development teams from a sustainability and ESG perspective.

Additionally, as Sustainability Director you will encourage successful ESG data management for accurate and timely business insights in the design, monitoring, and engagement on key sustainability initiatives.

You will develop the sustainability processes and perform, material assessments, lifecycle assessments and cost-benefit analyses based on the business's strategy, while Identifying the resources required to implement the Sustainability strategy. Accordingly, you will be expected to manage, develop, and grow the Sustainability committee's capabilities and direction within the organisation. This will include developing effective, and verifiable ESG data management processes that support the analysis of the overall ESG performance

Management of ESG reporting employing TCFD, SASB, GRI or other disclosure standards that meet the wider business strategy, while compiling and summarise ESG statistical data to identify undesirable trends and recommend corrective action.

As the successful candidate you will be an dynamic systems-thinker, passionate about sustainability with a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as business, sustainability, environmental sciences or engineering, Ideally you will have 10-15 years within the construction sector and/or sustainability (both is preferred), you will use this background and knowledge to provide an active and visible leadership role in all Sustainability initiatives.

The client is able to offer support with the visa application process as well as a relocation allowance for the successful candidate.
