Job description
Allen & York are delighted to be strengthening our work in the aviation sector by working exclusively with a large airport in the South West of England as they look to secure a Sustainability Project Manager to join their Sustainability Team and be responsible for delivering a number of projects.
This is a newly created role, driven largely by the successful bid to accommodate more passengers and their desire to travel from an airport who take sustainability seriously. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, your combination of sustainability and project management skills will be required as you engage with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to educate, train and influence on a range of sustainability issues and you'll lead on these relationships. You'll be tasked with developing and delivering the Net Zero programme for 2022/23, together with an Air Quality and Carbon Action Plan, studies on renewables and future fuels. In relation to the latter, if you can evidence where you've implemented innovative techniques and thought outside the box, that will put you in a favourable position but an interest in the aviation sector is more important.
You'll be a self starter, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, be commercially astute and a high attention to detail, producing quality work. In addition, you'll be comfortable working both as part of a Team and individually and you'll be confident and comfortable engaging with different teams and non sustainability professionals, sometimes translating complex information into an easy to understand narrative.
Based in the South West, they operate flexible working hours and a hybrid working model meaning you don't need to live in the South West necessarily, but you will be required to attend the site and offices 1-2 times a week but with free on-site parking and a competitive benefits package, this is a super opportunity for someone - ideally with aviation experience - and experience in the sustainability sector.
So, to find out more about this exciting role which is being advertised as an 18 month fixed term contract, call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207.
