Allen and York are delighted to be working with a growing, diverse sustainability consultancy based in London, who work with companies globally to navigate their sustainability journey, as they look to recruit a Sustainability/ESG Strategy Director.
Working with complex businesses to change the fundamental nature of how they operate to ensure the positioning themselves for success from a sustainability perspective, you will be covering issues from human rights to climate risk and everything in between.
As such, your demonstrable experience of conducting materiality assessments, developing strategies, setting targets, compiling reports and engaging with different stakeholders is required. You will be leading the client delivery teams on strategy and you'll be able to demonstrate your track record in delivering complex projects for large global organisations. You will prepare presentations and written reports attend and lead senior meetings, contribute to thought leadership, represent the business at conferences and events and you'll oversee the development and wellbeing of your Team.
You'll be familiar with a variety of sustainability frameworks such as TCFD, SASB, Science Based Targets and you'll understands the international regulatory landscape including EU Taxonomy and CSRD.
Whilst there is an element of communications in this role, given the nature of the business, the company needs someone with a strong technical sustainability background, who is comfortable using at C-Suite and executive level.
Based in beautiful offices and grounds in Central London but with a hybrid working model, you'll be responsible for managing up to five direct line reports, so previous management experience is essential, as is a passion and enjoyment of mentoring and developing people. In addition, your ability to identify new opportunities and to present a compelling, bespoke offer to clients is required as you will be key in contributing to the business' commercial growth.
