Sustainable Materials Engineer

Job description

Allen & York are delighted to be working with an international designer and manufacturer of computer hardware and software as they search for a Sustainable Materials Engineer to join their established Sustainability Team. You will be the technical leader of multiple projects, exploring materials and solutions based on sustainability improvement targets and you'll create a roadmap for the business.

Based in Southern Ireland on the coast, you will be an integral part of not only the Sustainability Team but also the business as you'll sit within the Creativity and Productivity Team, helping them fulfil their sustainability goals.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to investigate, explore and implement alternative materials through R&D and testing, developing risk assessments and road maps for various products.

You'll have a masters degree in sustainable materials or chemicals combined with at least five years' experience working with plastics ideally but other materials as well. Your exposure to recycled or renewable plastics would be ideal and you'll be adept at working with cross-functional teams and coming up with innovative ideas and processes. Always willing to push the boundaries and not settle for the easiest option, you'll fit in well with the Team who are constantly looking to make improvements, collaborate and challenge each other, so it's a hugely exciting environment to be part of.

If you have experience of working in the electronics sector, that would be a distinct advantage, however candidates from other sectors with strong transferable skills are invited to apply.

So if you're passionate about sustainability and want to make a big difference in the company, this is the role for you! Call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207 to find out more.
