Technical Manager - Solar and Battery Storage
£50k- £60k, Manchester / North-West, Hybrid and flexible Working (2 days a fortnight in the office)
Are you an experienced technical solar PV or battery storage design professional, with experience working on large scale roof mounted systems, looking for a great new role?
We're looking for a Technical Manager to manage and grow a PV design team, whilst working closely with end-user clients and the internal bid team to design and cost roof mounted solar PV systems for non-domestic buildings. If this sounds like you, read on!
The role
You'll provide technical management and oversight at tender stage to ensure projects are assessed and PV systems design, specification, performance, quality and project timescales are deliverable.
You'll manage the Design Team and/or Technical Team throughout the pre-construction stage to ensure that projects commence on time and with sufficient and correct design information.
You'll protect the interests of the Company and develop good working relationships with Clients, Consultants, Sub-contractors and Suppliers.
You'll ensure that all contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the Clients requirements.
You'll manage and co-ordinate design to ensure project delivery in accordance with Business Plan targets, industry KPI's, ISO 9001, 14001,18001, H & S Policy, and Best Practice and Quality procedures file.
Requirements
Previous experience designing roof mounted non-domestic Solar PV projects.
Ground mounted PV and battery storage experience.
Engineering technical excellence and pride in work / project outcomes
Strong Project Management skills, ensuring optimal design and costs on all projects
Minimum 3 years' experience managing commercial-scale solar PV projects and teams, in addition to managing UK DNO G99 & G100 requirements and conditions.
Ability to interpret PV designs for all building types
Strong electrical background (highly desirable, but not essential)
