Technical Surveying Principal - London
This is your chance to join a business that provides specialist advise to the real estate industry on it's sustainability commitments. This is done through consulting with clients around their responsible investment and asset management mandates.
You will be working with one of the most respected environmental and technical due diligence organisations firms within the industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Management level Chartered Surveyor to take the lead role in a Technical Due Diligence & Building Surveying team based out of London.
You will have demonstrable technical skills with an understanding of building surveying and pathology; construction methods, including commercial; replacement costs and life cycle costings; building engineering and commercial surveying.
As a Technical Surveying Principal, you will be a MRICS Chartered Surveyor with ten years' experience in technical due diligence, you will be responsible for developing and managing the technical department, assisting clients with equity and debt-based instructions and working with wider teams to facilitate sustainability related projects.
You will be part of a team that has a service offering includes Land / property condition assessments, assessment of cost and risk aspects (over short, medium and long-term basis) associated with real estate acquisitions or the provision of debt secured against real estate. As well as assessments of suitability of building services for their intended use and development of cost-models for maintenance and replacements.
In the role of Technical Surveying Principal, you will be client facing, along with responsibilities for hiring and managing staff, managing subcontractors, and carrying out technical reviews. As the successful candidate you will be the public face of the technical department and as such you will need to be confident when dealing directly with clients, in addition to building and maintaining professional relationships while managing expectations effectively.
Being commercially and financially astute, with a good understanding of commercial property markets will be key in this role, you should also be able to provide concise commercial advice and technical solutions to clients on a regular basis.
You will have previous experience in cost modelling across all property sectors and construction types, in addition to broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems and a familiarity with relevant codes of practice and industry standards.
Flexibility around working location is required, as travel for site visits etc will be required within the UK.
In return for your hard work you will receive a salary of £70,000, company private medical and healthcare schemes, death in service benefit and annual discretionary company bonus.
