Allen & York are delighted to be working on this outstanding opportunity with a confidential FTSE client to assist in appointing their UK Safety Director. Our client is a world leader in their field, and they excel in providing innovative and technological solutions globally to their customers across a range of disciplines.
The organisation operates across a diverse working environment, which includes some high hazard environments as well as office and high security facilities globally with a team of direct and indirect reports.
Reporting to the Operations Director this role plays an instrumental role in leading on Health & Safety for the UK business translating group policy to UK operational activity providing strategic leadership with the aim of achieving world class standards in safety.
This role will act as the lead for Health & Safety across all operations in the UK and will be a thought leader for all safety critical personnel improving performance, being a visible champion for Safety and promoting a positive safety culture across the organisation.
It is essential that candidates are familiar working in a Group or matrix structure able to work cross divisionally with strong stakeholder management working often on a remote basis with teams and individuals working disparately.
It is expected that candidates will have a demonstrable and proven track record of culture change across complex organisations with a drive and passion to succeed reinforced by a strong desire to learn and improve in a challenging environment.
To be considered for this role candidates are likely to be degree educated and have a track record of working across a diverse business in a senior management position. A Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards, candidates will be able to demonstrate exceptional experience influencing and affecting change within a business in an effective and collaborative manner.
