Job description
🚨Assistant GIS Technician
📍Hampshire (3 days in the office/2 remote)
💵£26k-£30k
At Allen & York, we're proud to be partnering with a leading ecological consultancy in Hampshire to recruit an Assistant GIS Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your technical mapping expertise with work that makes a genuine difference for biodiversity across the UK.
Working closely with a team of experienced ecologists, you'll transform ecological survey data into accurate, visually engaging maps and figures. Your work will help inform reports, management plans, protected species licence applications, and biodiversity net gain assessments. One day you could be mapping habitats and protected species surveys, the next you might be illustrating conservation measures or analysing data for complex projects.
We're looking for someone with experience using QGIS or ArcGIS, but we're also keen to hear from IT-savvy candidates with strong transferable skills. Attention to detail, good organisation, and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines are essential.
The role offers a salary of £26-28k, flexible working options, structured training and development, and a friendly, nature-filled office environment. It's offered on a six-month contract with the strong possibility of becoming permanent.
If you're ready to apply your GIS skills to meaningful environmental work, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note: There is no sponsorship available for this role.
