Consultant Arboriculturist - Bury St Edmonds
Do you want to work for a privately-owned Environmental consultancy with 30 years history?
This is your chance to further your career with a medium sized environmental consultancy who have a can-do attitude based in Bury St Edmonds.
Ideally as a consultant Arboriculturist you will have 2+ years Post-graduate experience within Arboriculture and hold a BSC or equivalent qualification in agricultural, horticultural studies, urban and land studies, forestry, plant sciences, ecology, or biology or even perhaps a Lantra Professional Tree Inspection certificate, NPTC Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture Unit 5.1 and 5.2. You may even be a Licensed QTRA tree risk assessor and have knowledge of THREATS tree risk assessment method, potentially having a recognised forestry qualification, which would aid you in this role. You should also hold a Membership for either the Arboricultural Association, Royal Forestry Society or Institute of Chartered Foresters.
As a Consultant Arboriculturist you will be expected to manage fee-earning production projects as allocated, either independently or to the wider team. You will also maintain and develop existing and new client relationships, while upholding the company's vision, mission, values and culture in all aspects of the role.
Drawing on your established knowledge of working within Arboriculture, you will be used to working in a fast moving, client focused environment. The knowledge you have gained over the last couple of years, will allow you to successfully identify a range of tree and shrub species as well as common tree pests and diseases.
Having an in depth knowledge and experience of professional Arboricultural work will aid you when undertaking tree surveys and providing advice to a range of clients in relation to the requirements of BS5837:2012 as well as specify tree works in line with the requirements of BS3998:2010
You will undertake the preparation of root plate surveys, tree management and maintenance plans, woodland management plans and liaising with the Landscape & Ecology teams as required for these purposes, while carrying out site supervision visits as required.
Working as a Consultant Arboriculturist you will draw on your vast tree survey experience/ skills/ knowledge to be able to produce broad, detailed and varied reports written to a high standard within a speedy timeframe, this along with any knowledge of UK Planning Policy will enable you to be successful in this role.
A flexible attitude to working hours is essential as occasional travel and work away from home with overnight stays maybe required but will not be the norm.
Any Climbing certification and Certificates of competence for technical equipment would be an advantage to you in this role.
A clean driving licence is required as you will need to travel as part of this role.
