Allen and York are delighted to be working exclusively with a national charity as they embark on recruiting a Director of Research and Analysis to join their business. This is a critical hire for the charity and you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly into the CEO and manage a team of nine people (with two to three direct line reports), all of whom have unique specialisms within the energy sector.
This unique and highly important organisation supports local and national energy policies contributes to reducing carbon emissions and is key in influencing the energy system transition.
The business has grown significantly in recent years and is in a strong position and you'll be responsible for shaping the research so that the business can maintain its position as a leading innovator in sustainable energy. As such, you will bring innovative ideas, combined with a strong technical knowledge of energy systems, proven management experience and a flair for research, both qualitative and quantitative. Another important element of this role is as a spokesperson for the charity, so it's expected you will be adept at presenting in public, speaking on panels and attending events, in addition to working closely with councils and governments.
You'll have experience of creating a strategy for the Research Team, overseeing the operational management, developing policies and managing budgets. within the energy team there is particular expertise around buildings and energy systems modelling Social Research associated with fuel poverty energy demand reduction and energy consultancy focusing in particular on the planning and deployment of renewable energy and low carbon technologies.
Based in Bristol, and given your position as a member of the senior leadership team and Team Manager, you will be required to attend the office three days a week so you'll need to be able to comfortably commute to and from the office.
