Job description
Allen & York is delighted to be working with a leading global construction and engineering company as they look to recruit two Environmental Managers, one to be based in Birmingham and the other to be based in London, working on two key train stations for HS2.
Experience of having worked on large, complex infrastructure projects before is expected, whether they be in rail, water, energy and if you've worked on rail terminals previously, that would be advantageous.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legislation and working on the Environmental Management Systems in accordance with ISO 14001:2015, you'll be responsible for data collection and analysis, preparing documents to be delivered at meetings and investigating any incidents on site. In addition, you'll be working with permits, licences and consents and you will possess broad experience across air and noise quality, waste, ecology and archaeology. Your responsibilities will also extend to driving innovation and best practice and provide training to non-technical teams so your communication skills (both written and verbal) and stakeholder engagement skills will be excellent and you will be able to adapt your approach depending on the audience.
You will be educated to degree level in a relevant environmental or sustainability discipline and you'll most likely hold membership for IEMA or similar. You will also most likely hold a CSCS Card.
Based on site and given the nature of the role, it's unlikely you'll be able to work remotely so you'll need to be happy to be site and office based.
With a competitive salary on offer, do contact kpereira@allen-york.com if you wish to find out more.
