As an experienced Environmental professional with a passion for the worlds natural environment the role of Executive Director will provide opportunity to significantly influence and develop best practice working with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
This newly created role will establish, foster, and sustain scientific partnerships with internationally recognised scientists and institutions. lead research and implementation to achieve carbon neutrality; enhance marine and near shore ecosystems including mangrove, seagrass, coral reef, and native terrestrial vegetation habitats and associated biodiversity.
Key aspects of the role will be to direct the implementation of the business plan and strategic agenda, ensure work of the Environment & Monitoring Division is carried out efficiently and lead and manage the budget.
Candidates will have worked at a senior level and have gained upwards of 10 years career experience working in environmental research, monitoring, science and conservation.
Candidates must have a PhD in Marine Biology, Oceanography or Ecology, or a related subject and be an experienced and certified scientific diver with a strong track record of published papers.
