Job description
Allen & York are delighted to be partnering with one of the UK's leading airports as they look to recruit an ESG Performance Manager to join their established and growing sustainability team of nine. Reporting into the Head of Sustainability, this newly created role is pivotal to the continued success of the organisation and has been driven by their desire to forward plan and future proof themselves.
This is a really exciting opportunity for an ambitious, innovative and hard-working sustainability professional to join an organisation who are committed to sustainability, which is a growth enabler for the organisation. Sustainability is embedded into all areas of the business and you will have lots of opportunity to liaise directly with the shareholders and there's room for training and development as well.
Responsible for creating the company's ESG reporting strategy, it's expected that you will have experience working on a range of reporting frameworks, and it would be beneficial if you've reported to SBTi and TCFD but other reporting frameworks are also useful and any experience of CSRD would be great. In addition, any experience of having reported for listed companies would be advantageous. Whilst reporting is a significant part of the role, your responsibilities will extend beyond this so it's a great opportunity for you to develop further.
You will be good at simplifying complex information into easy to understand dialogue as you'll be collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders and have a good understanding of the regulatory framework and requirements. You will utilise your experience of producing sustainability reports and maintaining high scores for various indices (they already score very highly for GRESB).
You will use your project management and organisational skills to coordinate activities and track trends. You will be numerical and may come from a financial/accounting background, but with some relevant sustainability experience and your degree will reflect this.
You'll work closely with the Head of Sustainability and the shareholders but you'll be comfortable working independently and you'll represent the business at conferences and industry events.
There will be a Sustainability Executive who will report to you and, whilst they will assist you with data analysis and administration, you will be required to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into reviewing large data sets as well.
The company operate a flexible working policy so you will be able to work from home but the ideal scenario is that you work in the office three days per week and there is a competitive salary and benefits package on offer.
