Forestry Consultant Northern England / Scotland

You will be a member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or working towards membership, as well as hold a recognised Forestry qualification.
Your proven intellectual and technical forestry abilities will allow you to take on this forestry consultant role at either Consultant Senior consultant or principal consultant level, providing high quality forestry technical appendices and forestry chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments.
As a forestry consultant you will provide a complete range of forestry consultancy across Northern England and Scotland, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting woodland management plans to Forestry England and Forestry Scotland, along with the management of farm and estate woodlands.
Preparing plans for new woodland establishment along with applying for grant support as necessary will come as second nature to you. Forestry mensuration, thinning control, timber valuation and obtaining felling licenses will all be part of your standard tasks.
Your previous experience working in the forestry industry will allow you to carry out site assessments for proposed windfarms within afforested areas along with drafting forestry technical appendices and chapters for EIA's.
A Pivotal part of your role will be to Provide forestry support to the Arboriculture and Land Team while helping to expand the forestry business in Northern England and Scotland.
A full driving licence will be required as will the need for flexible working with regard to type of work, timing and location due to the nature of this role.
