Are you a commercially aware environmental professional with deep technical expertise in permitting, compliance, and sustainability? Do you thrive in operational environments and want to lead meaningful change across a diverse portfolio of sites?

A well-established, independent business operating in the aggregates, waste, and extractives sector is seeking a Group Environment & Sustainability Manager to head up its growing environmental team.

This is a high-impact, strategic role where you'll:
Lead environmental performance across active and legacy sites, including waste and infill operations.
Own the permitting lifecycle, from acquisition to surrender, ensuring regulatory excellence.
Interface with senior internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies with credibility and influence.
Drive the delivery of carbon reduction initiatives aligned with the UK's net zero goals.
Support development projects, site divestment, and sustainable business growth.

You'll be responsible for leading a small team, owning compliance across multiple business units, and supporting long-term planning and development functions.

Ideal Candidates will have:
A strong background in waste management, environmental permitting, or contaminated land.
Commercial and operational awareness.
Confidence engaging with regulators and external stakeholders.
Experience in data reporting (SECR, ESOS, BES 6001) and sustainability strategy.
