Head of Ecology
Up to £100,000
Petersfield, Hampshire, UK (hybrid)
Allen & York are excited to be working with a leading consultancy, supporting Network Rail and other major contractors by providing a wide range of off-track solutions and minor civil works. In addition to this, they also provide a highly regarded arboriculture and forestry service with unrivalled skills and knowledge of forestry work at all levels.
Our client is looking for an innovative Head of Ecology to lead and develop a small, but highly skilled, professional and proactive team with the potential for significant growth.
You'll need to have significant experience in a similar role, with extensive experience of Ecological Project Management, from conception to completion. With comprehensive and detailed knowledge of current legislation, UK policy and ecological best practice, you'll have wide-ranging experience in producing a range of ecological survey reports covering different species and habitats. A full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), you'll hold several protected species licenses including dormice, GCN or bat. An excellent communicator, you'll be highly skilled in report writing, numerical data manipulation and statistical analysis. With strong commercial acumen, you'll have previous experience of business development and bid management.
A full UK driving licence is required for this role as you will be required to regularly conduct site visits.
Experience of working in the rail industry would be advantageous for this role.
