Job description
This role represents an opportunity to join a not-for-profit organisation working throughout the Essex and East London region managing a diverse portfolio of risk across property and working groups including vulnerable people working in a religious environment.
Working closely with the Director of Property this role will provide expert and proactive safety advice to support the activities across the business relating to property, events, and social activities.
As part of this appointment the role will include travel to a variety of sites across the region liaising with key stakeholders across the organisation to identify any issues and then recommend corrective action as required. In addition, the role will be required to provide the necessary training for developing knowledge and skills throughout to ensure behaviours are at sufficient standard.
Key to this role will be the identification and recording of information relating to reporting relevant statistics as well ensure any investigations are carried out where required. As well as ensuring compliance, it will be an active part of the role to proactively develop and encourage Health & Safety as an ongoing function throughout the organisation as well as advising on wellbeing and safeguarding.
Candidates will be required to have a strong background or interest working in Health & Safety, ideally in a charity, not-for-profit or religious based organisation. The role will require training so a relevant qualification or experience will be needed and candidates should have a minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate but ideally Diploma.
Please note that the role will involve travel throughout the region so it is a requirement that candidates own a vehicle that can be used for work, for which mileage allowance will be compensated.
