Principal GIS Consultant-£Competitive

Are you a GIS consultant with experience managing a team and innovating a GIS offering?
We are looking for a Principal GIS consultant to join a small, independent Environmental Consultancy in heart of Glasgow. They specialise in Ecology and Ornithology services in the Renewable Energy sector.
The role
- Lead the GIS team with management and delivery of all Project related spatial data
- Provide GIS support to the teams in the general use, setup, review and finalisation of spatial data
- Maintain professional and proactive communication with team members, clients and any other third parties.
- Line manage and support professional development to GIS team members
- Lead with innovation on data management
Skills and Experience we're looking for:
- Demonstrated experience and sound understanding of ESRI's suite of GIS software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap and ArcGIS Online
- Extensive experience in the production of clear Survey Maps, Report Figures and Figure Suites required for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for renewable energy projects or similar large scale infrastructure projects within the UK
- Demonstrated Experience and sound understanding of advanced extensions/features of ArcGIS such as the Spatial Analysist toolset and Modelbuilder
- Experience in the management and use of spatial data from varying sources and in varying formats (Including CAD)
- Experience in Mobile Data Capture and Open-Source GIS packages (including QGIS)
- Experience in a relevant workplace (consultancy or public sector)
- Ability to manage commercial aspects of GIS projects, including budgets and inputting into tenders.
- Effective communication, visual communication and analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience of line management
