Our client is looking to expand their team in Yorkshire within their Leeds office to work on a number of exciting new projects to support sustainable economic growth and development across the region.
As Principal Transport Planner/Modeller you will currently hold a BSc degree in a numerate subject or an MSc in transport Planning or related subject with substantial post-qualification experience. As well as holding chartered membership of either CIHT, TPS, CILT or ICE or be currently working towards chartered status of one of these bodies.
Ideally you will have gained this experience in transport modelling from a consultancy or local authority setting, while having a working knowledge and understanding in the usage of at least two or more of the following software packages; SATURN, Emme, VISUM, Cube
Reporting directly to an Associate Director you will work within a collaborative team and office environment. In this role a key part of your day to day tasks will be working closely with our principals and associates within Transportation and other disciplines across the businesses offices.
As a Principal Transport Planner/Modeller, you will be an important member of the Transport Planning and Modelling team in Leeds. You will assist with the specification and management of transport planning projects and programmes, provide advice and support to junior staff and assist in the development of business opportunities. As such, you will need to have experience and knowledge of the full range of transport planning.
As the successful candidate you will be tasked with leading workstreams within projects with limited supervision, taking responsibility for the technical quality of the work and ensuring that best practice techniques are applied consistently.
Utilising your vast understanding of traffic models and business case development and a depth of knowledge of key guidance documents, such as TAG, You will also contribute to the production and delivery of larger proposals and bids related to our market area from time to time and lead on smaller proposals and bids.
