Process Safety Engineer

Our client is a multi-national organisation working in the chemical industry providing a range of ingredients and elements in a variety of industry from media to cosmetics and from construction to high fashion. The company work across the globe and have sites across 6 continents.

Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety this role as Process Safety Engineer will focus on Engineering change management processes, HAZOP, SIL and ATEX requirements. A key aspect of this role will be to provide support and promote Process Safety Management internally in line with legal requirements and internal engineering standards.

Key aspects and responsibilities include:

* Co-ordination of Process Safety and other project H&S requirements
* Supporting the site HSE and Engineering teams as required to ensure that each site is fully compliant with all relevant current and future legislation and other requirements (i.e., industry guidance) in all areas of process safety.
* Advise and support stakeholders and process safety matters (FEED, COMAH, DSEAR, SIL etc.)
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, to raise awareness, influence process change, drive continuous improvement and the adoption of best practice, and external stakeholders to enable achievement of business objectives.

Candidates should have experience in safety case development or maintenance in a high hazard industry, ideally chemical sector as well as experience in Hazard Analysis.

Candidates should be degree qualified in a STEM discipline with a desire to work towards Chartered if not so already.
