Job description
This is an excellent opportunity to join a prominent utilities and infrastructure contractor based in the northern home counties and working throughout the South East of England with a prominent utilities customer base.
The role will be take a lead on the environment and sustainability strategy for the business as well ensuring that the ISO 14001 management system is up to date and maintained.
Included in the role will be to be involved at the design and construction stages for projects to ensure compliance and provide advice to key stakeholders as well managing early schemes through the EIA process to obtain planning permission.
The role will be the company expert on all matters environmental and will carry out relevant inspections and audits as well as provide relevant training to the project teams. The role will also work closely with contractors and sub-contractors as well as any specialist consultants and also ensure suppliers are compliant according to company standards.
Candidates will need strong experience working as a dedicated Environment specialist within the construction sector as well as an environmental degree and IEMA membership with effective communication skills. A Lead or internal Auditor qualification would be advantageous.
