Job description
Allen and York are delighted to be working with a global engineering firm as they look to recruit a Senior Environmental Advisor within their energy business. Ideally, you will come from a construction, engineering, infrastructure and/or energy background in order to hit the ground running and be familiar with the setup and work on the projects.
The projects you'll work on are based throughout the UK and so regardless of where you live, there will be occasional travel including possibly an overnight stay from time to time, however the first and most immediate project is based in the East Midlands.
Another element of your role will be to manage some more junior advisors so previous management experience is required and in particular remote management team as they are unlikely to be based in the same location as yourself.
You will be working on complex energy projects so any experience of having worked on National Grid assignments would be advantageous but it's not essential. What is required is your environmental monitoring skills to undertake environmental audits and inspections, to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, provide input into tenders and environmental awards submissions, pull together monthly data and submit this to the Environmental Manager and apply for environmental consents and permits (you'll liaise with regulatory bodies on a regular basis). In addition, you will be familiar with ISO 14000:2015 and ideally be a Lead Auditor for this. You may also be required to manage the third party Environmental Clerk of Works so an understanding of what this role is would be helpful.
You will hold a degree in a relevant subject such as Environmental Sciences or Geography and you'll be a Full member of IEMA. Combined with your hands on experience and working on large complex projects, this is a fantastic role for you so to find out more, please call Katie on 01202 888986 Ext 207.
