Allen & York are delighted to be partnering with the National Trust as they search for a Sourcing Standards Manager to join their Retail Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to play a crucial role in Europe's largest conservation charity, enabling the National Trust Retail department to lead in the field of sourcing and quality standards.

Bringing your passion for ethical and sustainable sourcing you'll join the Retail Team. You will be playing an important role in building strategic relationships with suppliers, you'll set standards, as well as guide and influence the selection and evaluation of the supply base to National Trust Retail. You'll share your professional expertise and be an advocate and champion for their retail environmental and ethical standards.
You'll ensure they meet milestones in their programme and create plans with their suppliers to become compliant with their requirements. You will be ensuring that their product meets the correct legislative and safety requirements and lead on the continuing evolution of their sourcing standards and quality control.
Using your stakeholder management skills, you will work closely with a broad range of internal stakeholders including Land & Nature, the Environmental team, Procurement and Licensing. You'll ensure that the Trust remains at the forefront of policy, standards and regulations. With over 5.6 million members and a retail turnover of £35million comes huge reach and responsibility, with the opportunity to make a difference on a large scale, in a committed and purpose-driven organisation.
The successful candidate will have a background in retail and will have experience in responsible sourcing, risk assessing suppliers and supply chains and working with sourcing/ethical trading programmes such as SEDEX. Additionally, you will bring your knowledge of environmental and ethical policies and products to the role.
Equally as important as your technical experience will be your influencing and communication skills, as there will be lots of stakeholder engagement, so your proactive mindset and ability to be a team player are essential. You will form an integral part of the business and play a key role in their sustainability improvements, so you should be passionate about maintaining and keeping up to date with environmental and ethical standards to contribute towards these developments.
The head office is in Swindon, and you would ideally be in the office a couple of days a week, so you should live within a reasonable distance as you'll be collaborating with a passionate and engaged team of professionals. You will also be liaising with various different departments in the business so you will need to be in the vibrant office for part of the week.
