Job description
Allen & York are proud to be working with a business close to us on the South Coast of England as they look to secure a Sustainability Manager for a 9-12 month maternity cover.
As the sole environmental/sustainability professional in the Team, your experience of ensuring compliance with environmental legislation will be essential, as will your experience of designing, implementing and maintaining Environmental Management Systems in accordance with ISO14001, conducting internal audits and applying for permits, licences and consents.
In addition to this, your experience of CSR and ESG is also required and you'll be able to use your community engagement skills, as well as taking responsibility for the charitable foundation.
Are you good at listening, informing and educating? Perfect, as your ability to remain calm under pressure and ability to appreciate two sides of the story will be essential.
If you're not one to be sat at a desk all day, this role will suit you down to the ground as you'll be out and about on site, in meetings and in the office for a time.
You will be engaging with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to drive forward best practice and communicate the work you're doing to the public.
Your ability to multitask will definitely be required as you'll be working on multiple projects at any one time, driving forward the environmental strategy, advising other parts of the business and you'll be the face of the business at relevant Technical Meetings and events.
Easily accessible by road and rail, the role may be suitable for those slightly further away from Southampton, which is where the role is based (you'll need to be on site for some of the week but there will be the opportunity to work from home as well when possible).
So if you're ready to take on this extremely exciting, challenging and multi faceted role at a pivotal time in the organisation's history, call Katie on 01202 888986 Ext 207.
