Job description
Allen & York are delighted to be working with a leading contractor as they embark on an ambitious, long-term programme of works within the Defence sector based in the South East. This is a super project to be involved with, if you're looking to get your teeth into a meaty project, which will throw up its own unique challenges so read on to find out more.
Still at the design phase of the project, this role would really suit anyone who's been involved with the design of large infrastructure projects as you'll be able to directly influence and transfer what you've learnt to this project.
Joining a small but dedicated and growing Team of professionals, you'll be an integral member of the Environment, Health, Safety and Wellbeing function, working across the different Teams to ensure sustainability initiatives are considered at all stages of the project in line with the client's Carbon Neutral 2030 vision, that all the departments buy in to and understand why things are being done and then successfully implemented and embedded. Using your experience of energy and water use, sustainable materials, waste produced in the construction process, sustainable construction methods and environmental compliance, you'll develop the collection of KPI's and performance data across both environmental and social initiatives and will promote best practice with non-sustainability professionals.
My client is renowned for their commitment to innovation and so you'll come with ideas and suggestions and be able to think 'outside the box' when it comes to implementing sustainability initiatives and ideally you'll have experience of implementing strategies in a highly regulated environment. It is expected you'll hold Lead Auditor status and have strong project management experience. In addition, it will be favourable if you've delivered BREEAM projects previously and if you're a BREEAM AP, that would be ideal. You'll most likely hold a relevant first and/or second degree and a good few years' experience.
Due to the nature of the project and security requirements, applicants must be UK nationals and comfortable progressing through the security clearance process. You will also need to visit and spend time on site to you'll most likely be based in the South East.
So, if you meet the requirements, you're looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to be involved in a high profile project from the start, call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207.
