Associate Director - Ecology

Job description

Associate Director - Ecology

£50,000-£70,000 Oxfordshire (Hybrid working)

Our client, a specialist ecological consultancy, was founded in 2006 with only 4 people. Due to the ongoing success and expansion of the business, they have now grown substantially and have 50 permanent members of staff and therefore present an excellent opportunity for an Associate Director to join their industry leading biodiversity team, working on an exciting range of challenging and interesting nationwide projects.

Why this role?

Our client is dynamic, fast paced and rapidly evolving, staying ahead of competition by operating at the leading edge of emerging fields. With a single large team operating out of one location this creates an open and light-hearted atmosphere, which is absent at larger companies. The team is made up of hand-picked individuals, with the focus not on financial targets, but the values of the business and meeting the expectations of clients. Which is supported by their reputation for being problem solvers and the lead in the field in identifying solutions that may not be apparent to others.

Here you will get the opportunity to diversify in all areas of ecology and not be specifically pigeonholed into one specialism and our client's internal training programme is a key component to their approach and will accelerate your career progression and capabilities!

The role

You will-

  • Be accomplished at working on complex large-scale projects with Directors.

  • Be accomplished at independently producing high quality EcIA chapters for complex sites.

  • Be accomplished at producing high quality HRAs for complex and strategic issues.

  • Provide direction in regard to key areas of business function and development.

Requirements

We are looking for people with:

  • GCN licence plus Dormouse and bat class 2 licences

  • An EPS mitigation licences in their own name.

  • Experience conducting NVC level woodland and grassland surveys

  • A sound background in natural history and familiarity with UK flora and fauna.

  • Comprehensive experience with UK botanical and faunal identification.
