Corporate Sustainability Manager

Job description

Allen and York are delighted to be working exclusively with a premium, global furniture manufacturer as they embark on the next chapter of their exciting journey. Driven by their desire to innovate and set themselves apart from their competitors, they are now looking to recruit a Corporate Sustainability Manager to join the Team. Based in Europe, you'll report to the Global Director of Sustainability and will manage a small team of sustainability professionals, three of whom are in the US and one in India. There has also been sign off for one extra headcount for this year and you will be involved in the process of recruiting this person, into the area of sustainability you decide best befits the strategy. As such, you'll be comfortable managing and being managed remotely (once you've travelled to meet your colleagues of course!) and you'll be experienced enough to work independently. This fantastic opportunity will allow you to build the strategy across the global business so it goes without saying that you will have prior experience of implementing a sustainability strategy and you'll have strong project management experience.

Given the sector you'll be operating in, experience of Life Cycle Assessment, certification schemes such as FSC and ISO 14001:2015 and possibly a background in material science would be advantageous. Prior experience of preparing and submitting EU tenders would also be incredibly beneficial. You'll also be involved with annual reporting so it's expected you'll have contributed to sustainability reports, working to various frameworks including GRI and DJSI and your data analysis skills will also be strong.

Based in Europe, most likely the UK, the business operates a hybrid working model but would suit somebody based in the Southwest or South East of England so you can access the offices. Strong leadership skills are required to guide and mentor the team of professionals, some of whom have been with the business for many years and you'll be joining a business who have a long history and a strong story in sustainability which is very much invested in from the top down.

Your Sustainability and/or Masters degree, combined with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in a sustainability role will mean you will be able to hit the ground running and start to make an immediate impact.

This is a super opportunity to join one of the market leading furniture manufacturers who are well renowned and sought after and who take sustainability very seriously, so to find out more please contact Katie on 01202 888986 Ext 207.
