Environmental Specialist

Job description

Allen & York are excited to be working with a leading contractor as they embark on an ambitious, long-term programme of works within the Defence sector based in the South East of England. This is a really interesting project to be involved with, so if you're looking to get your teeth into a meaty project, which will throw up its own unique challenges and opportunities, read on to find out more.

Still at the design phase of the project, this role would really suit anyone who's been involved with the design of large infrastructure projects as you'll be able to directly influence and transfer what you've learnt to this project and you'll be working with the Head of ESHW to lead on and deliver environmental expertise to the programme, review technical data and environmental deliverables and to provide training to non-sustainability professionals on environmental compliance, amongst other things.

Joining a small but dedicated and growing Team of professionals, you'll be an integral member of the Environment, Health, Safety and Wellbeing function, working across the different Teams to drive environmental performance, provide advice and facilitate stakeholder engagement across the whole project. To succeed in this role, you'll have excellent Environmental Management Systems expertise, preferably in a highly regulated environment (construction site), you'll have reviewed BAT's, be competent with environmental permitting and compliance, have carried out sustainability appraisals and you'll be adept at managing numerous projects at any one time. In addition, if you've been exposed to DREAM Assessments previously, that will put you in a favourable position.

Due to the nature of the project and security requirements, applicants must be UK nationals and comfortable progressing through the security clearance process. You will also need to visit and spend time on site to you'll most likely be based in the South East.

So, if you meet the requirements, you're looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to be involved in a high profile project from the start, call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207.
