Group Health & Safety Director

Allen & York are delighted to have been appointed to work exclusively with this top FTSE 250 organisation to assist in selecting their Group Health & Safety Director. This client is a well-known, public facing organisation and is very widely respected to a broad audience including business and the general public.

Reporting to the Plc board, this senior level group role is instrumental in strategically creating and maintaining a positive safety culture across a diverse and disparate working environment. Working closely with the Group COO and CEO the role will be instrumental in driving improvement in standards across the group through a team of direct and indirect reports.

This role will support the Group Leadership Team (GLT) in providing strategic advice and oversight, ensuring the company are operating to the highest standards in line with the safety assurance principles. In addition, the role will review, create and lead on a group wide program to ensure consistency across all operating divisions as well as providing inspirational and pragmatic solutions and standards.

It is essential candidates can demonstrate a track record of performance and technical excellence leading a group function, able to deliver cohesion and consistency. Candidates will require skilled influencing and be innovative in creating new practices and challenging existing thought ideas able to influence fellow executive board members.

It is expected that candidates will have worked for a large, multi-faceted Plc business in a group function, be degree educated and have an excellent track record leading in senior management position. A Chartered Member of IOSH candidates will be able to demonstrate exceptional experience influencing and affecting change within a business in an effective and collaborative manner.
