๐ London, UK
A pioneering opportunity has arisen for an experienced ecologist to lead a growing team at the forefront of the Biodiversity Net Gain movement. Based in Camden, this role offers the chance to shape a greener future through the restoration of nature at scale. As Head of Ecology, you will be instrumental in developing habitat banks and guiding strategy across natural capital markets. Your work will deliver long-term ecological value while influencing how development and biodiversity coexist in the UK.
We are looking for a professional with at least a decade of field experience, including team leadership and a deep understanding of BNG legislation, statutory metrics, and ecological best practice. You will lead a high-performing team of ecologists, oversee habitat surveys and assessments, and work closely with government bodies such as DEFRA and Natural England. The ideal candidate will bring strong botanical knowledge, a pragmatic mindset, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to a range of audiences.
This is more than a leadership role-it's an invitation to help build something meaningful from the ground up, where your expertise will directly shape landscapes and communities. If you're looking for a role where your impact will be lasting, this is your moment.
