Head of Sustainable Finance

Allen & York are proud to be working exclusively with Briink, an exciting team of passionate entrepreneurs, data scientist and sustainability professionals based in Berlin, Germany, to recruit their Head of Sustainable Finance; an important role in the leadership team.

Briink is on a mission to leverage the scale of AI to help companies navigate their sustainability journey and accelerate the transition to a more sustainable world.

Based out of the AI campus in Berlin, supported by Merantix AG, you will have access to a network of more than 90 engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs from high profile companies and universities to support you on this mission.

As Head of Sustainable Finance, you'll join Briink's leadership team and be central to developing their cutting-edge AI sustainable finance platform. Your extensive knowledge of the sustainable finance regulatory sector in Europe will help guide Briink's strategic direction and product roadmap.

This role will give you the freedom to draw upon your knowledge of EU sustainable finance regulatory frameworks, including EU taxonomy and EU Sustainability Reporting standards in general, including CSDR (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). You'll act as the prime in-house expert with respect to enacted and emerging sustainable finance regulation in the EU, giving you the opportunity to collaborate directly with Briink's product, design, and engineering teams to encode the sustainable finance regulatory landscape into technology solutions for your clients.

Ideally, you'll hold a master's degree in a related discipline (e.g. sustainable finance, finance, law, environmental management, accounting, business administration) and have a robust network of sustainable finance professionals, organizations, regulators and businesses to leverage and add real value to Briink's business development and partnerships strategy.

Managing, mentoring and nurturing Briink's growing sustainability team and sustainability initiatives will be part of your day to day role. You'll also utilise your interpersonal skills and network to identify strategic partners and new verticals to develop based on the experience you have gained in sustainable finance (directly within a corporate, finance, consulting, law, investor relations, corporate reporting, investment banking, or other related field).

You may have experience of working within a start-up environment - or alternatively a love for the unknown and be excited to join a vibrant business as they create something new for good. It is expected you will be Berlin based (or willing to relocate) for this unique and exciting opportunity.
