Job description
Allen & York are delighted to be working closely with a global organisation comprising of some of the best known commercial and media brands around the world. This exciting business, consisting of creative and passionate professionals, partner with organisations to drive progress and integrate sustainability internally. They're now looking to recruit a senior sustainability strategist to join their growing inhouse team. With close to 50,000 people globally, this role will suit someone who has amassed some solid experience in a consultancy and/or inhouse environment but now wishes to scale up to the next level.
As such, you'll have extensive experience of working in either a consultancy/agency or inhouse environment, developing and implementing sustainability strategies. For my client, they have identified climate action, sustainable consumption, gender equality and responsible media as their key focus areas and you'll have technical knowledge of sustainability issues and be aware of various frameworks and policies. You'll be developing the global strategy so experience of having done this previously would be advantageous, as will your experience of liaising with C-suite executives on a regular basis and engaging with various - and often very senior - stakeholders, both in the UK and overseas. Experience of different geographies would be advantageous, and any languages would be a bonus.
You'll have exceptional organisational skills, have gravitas and credibility and be able to embed leadership behaviours. It goes without saying your communication skills will be sound and it's expected you'll have an established network that you've developed over your career.
You will be joining an incredibly dynamic organisation where things change regularly so you'll need to be comfortable operating in such an environment and be agile, resilient and robust and you'll be happy working to a range of Team KPI's.
With the global Headquarters based in London, the Social Impact Team are based here so you'll be UK based and be able to access the London office. A competitive salary and package is on offer but even more importantly, it's the huge growth potential that the role offers that is appealing and the opportunity to build the strategy. So if you're excited by what you've read and would like to find out more, call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207.
