Allen and York are delighted to be working with one of the leading national insurance providers as they look to recruit a sustainability coordinator to join their team. This is a new role within the business driven by their commitment to improving and embedding sustainability within the organisation.
Working closely with the Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for collecting and analysing sustainability data for the purposes of tracking carbon emissions, developing the ISO 14000 certification system and implementing that within the business and organising and managing sustainability engagement projects. Once the Environmental Management System is implemented, it will be your responsibility to maintain this so experience of having conducted audits in a previous position will be beneficial as well as being up to date with the environmental legislation.
Your excellent communication skills will be required, as part of your role will be to produce material for both internal and external release as well as communicating across the business about sustainability issues. In addition to this, you will have strong project management skills, an ability to manage more than one task at the same time, you'll have a strong sense of initiative and be energetic passionate and ambitious. The speed of the work will be fast-paced so will suit action oriented candidates. You will hold irrelevant environmental degree and at least a couple of years' experience in a similar role - but it doesn't have to be in the insurance sector necessarily.
With the Head Office based in Bournemouth, you will need to be able to access the office approximately two days a week (they operate a hybrid working model), but with a city centre location, free parking and excellent transport links, the reach is quite broad.
