UK SHE Director

Allen & York are delighted to have been engaged to work with a confidential Plc client to assist with the recruitment of their Group SHE Director. The company are the leader in their field and work collaboratively with high profile organisations on projects across the UK and have interests internationally.

The role will report to the CEO and will support the Group Leadership Team in setting the Group Health, Safety and Sustainability strategic objectives. The role will also provide oversight to the Plc board on HSE efficiency and success as well as working closely with BU Managing Directors and HSE Leads to create and implement plans in line with the Group strategic framework.

In addition, this role has overall responsibility for the Sustainability team and ESG steering group.

This is a demanding role with an organisation working in challenging, heavy industrial settings, therefore candidates will require a diverse skillset to adapt and work with the various demands of the role.

Candidates will need demonstrable experience working and reporting at Group level within a Plc business or C suite as well as proven success leading a team of direct and indirect reports in a high-profile multi-sited business. The role will require high levels of communication and engagement with key stakeholders at Group level but also within the business units and at 'shop floor' level.

It is anticipated that candidates will be degree qualified with CMIOSH as well as experience or functional responsibility of Sustainability which could include membership of ICRS.

Please note that this role is based in the Yorkshire region and therefore candidates will need to be located in this region or be prepared to relocate as appropriate.
