Country Manager - Environmental Consulting (Mining Sector) - Côte d'Ivoire

Are you a driven environmental professional with a strong background in consulting for the mining or natural resources sector? Are you ready to take the lead in expanding a well-established firm's presence in West Africa? We're looking for a strategic leader to step into the role of Country Manager for Côte d'Ivoire, someone who can blend business development expertise with technical delivery excellence.

In this exciting leadership role, you will be responsible for driving operations, managing key client relationships, and developing a pipeline of impactful environmental and social projects across the country. The ideal candidate will be confident in growing a consulting business from the ground up, be comfortable in client-facing roles, and have a strong understanding of ESG, environmental legislation, and permitting within the West African mining context.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the strategic business plan for operations in Côte d'Ivoire, aligned with group objectives.
• Lead all business development activities, from market analysis and competitor insights to client engagement, tender submissions, and opportunity conversion.
• Grow the client base and diversify the service offering through upselling and cross-selling.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget control according to international standards.
• Manage financial and operational performance including forecasting, budgeting, and profitability tracking.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary local team, fostering growth and high performance.
• Champion localization and sustainability initiatives while navigating country-specific regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Postgraduate qualification in Environmental, Natural or Social Sciences (Business or Financial qualifications advantageous).
• Background in environmental consulting with exposure to the mining and resources industry.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to win work and build long-term partnerships.
• Confident in managing multidisciplinary teams and driving operational success.
• Fluent in English; French proficiency is a strong advantage.
