Allen & York are delighted to be working with a leading airport in the south west of England as they look to recruit an Environmental Management Specialist to sit in the Planning & Corporate Affairs Team and be an integral part of delivering their Sustainability Strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Social Value, you will be offering expert advice on a range of issues, including waste, water, air quality, noise and carbon management. Indeed, a large focus of the role will be on carbon management, so experience of this will be essential. Another key element of the role is stakeholder engagement as you'll be engaging with numerous departments both internally and externally.
You'll be responsible for maintaining the Airport's carbon model, to ensure carbon reduction targets are achieved, together with helping to deliver a number of key sustainability projects, including solar installations and a planned Energy Centre. You'll also be tasked with preparing the sustainability disclosures for annual accounts such as ESOS and SECR.
In order to be considered for the role, you will hold a relevant degree, be an Associate Member of IEMA and have experience of environmental management and carbon management. You will be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to forge strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. If you have experience of working in the infrastructure sector, specifically aviation, that will be advantageous but an interest in the sector and willingness to learn is important.
Based on site at the airport, they do operate a hybrid working model, so you will be able to work from home two to three days a week, but initially, you will be required to attend the offices three days a week.
