Senior HSE Specialist

Job description

Our client is a world leading, people orientated organisation working in over 100 countries worldwide who deliver world leading solutions to clients across the broad spectrum of industry. The company are considered experts in their fields and are trusted advisors to industry in areas such as Oil & Gas, Food, Automotive, Renewable Energy and Marine.

This role is a critical role in providing a knowledge based, strategic service to the business across the UK and Ireland to key stakeholders in the business including the senior level bureau and the executive board.

The role is one which will provide strategic advice but will also provide a pragmatic solution at an advisory level which could include providing professional advice to individuals, internal audits or technical HSE support.

The role will include supporting compliance with legislation, maintaining registers, developing operating processes as well as developing initiatives and participation in UK wide group meetings.

It is likely that candidates will have a background in a broad range of sectors or possibly consulting and wish to move to an 'in-house' role. It is essential that candidates have the ability to think and work at a strategic level, deliver a quality service to internal and external 'customers' but a must have is experience of ISO systems including 45001 and 14001.

A lead or internal auditor qualification would be useful in addition, as well as a high standard of Health & Safety membership e.g. Grad IOSH or CMIOSH ideally.

Candidates should be based in the midlands ideally with access to the Leicestershire region. The company operate a hybrid model of working.
